The authors aimed to evaluate RetCam fundus photography and fluorescein angiography (FA) findings in pseudo retinoblastoma. This was a retrospective review of 36 eyes of 28 patients (of which six were female) with 22 bilateral cases. Mean age at presentation was 29.3 months. Most were referred as suspect retinoblastoma. Diagnoses included Coats disease (n=9), congenital glaucoma (n=3), persistent foveal vasculature (n=3), FEVR (n=2), retinopathy of prematurity (n=2), myelinated retinal nerve fibres (n=2), optic nerve hypoplasia (n=2), ocular albinism (n=2) and meridional folds (n=2). Initial symptoms included leukocoria, strabismus and reduced vision. The authors conclude the RetCam significantly helps with differential diagnosis by demonstrating diagnostic features of other ocular abnormalities.
