This article is a systematic review of surgical techniques for reconstruction of the eyebrow. The authors discuss the anatomy of the eyebrow, structure of its hair follicles and principles underlying the reconstruction. Options for direct closure, types of advancement and rotation flaps are discussed with details about their indications, advantages, and precautions to take during these procedures. Alternatives of free flaps, tissue expansion and free hair bearing grafts are also explained. Secondary hair replacement options of hair transplantation, eyebrow tattooing are briefly reviewed. This comprehensive review is a good summary of surgical considerations in the closure of eyebrow defects depending on size and location.
