This paper describes two patients with childhood cyclic esotropia treated with botulinum toxin (BT) and followed for eight and nine years. Onset was at two and four years of age. BT was injected under electromyography (EMG) guidance bilaterally to medial recti with 5IU dose under ketamine anaesthetic. Detailed reports of each case are provided and for both. BT was found to be safe and effective to either break the cycle or permanently control the deviation. A useful descriptive table summarises the reports of treatment of childhood onset esotropia.
