This book is well written and offers a concise yet in-depth understanding of the subject of strabismus. Although the target audience of the book are the ophthalmologists in training, all grades of ophthalmologists who are looking for a systematic and simplified approach in this complex area of ophthalmology will find the book useful.

The text commences with a discussion of the presentation, history and assessment tips for strabismus. Impact of refractive errors on the squint, management of amblyopia, spectacle prescription and occlusion therapy guidelines are next elucidated. The subsequent chapters cover the ins and outs of different strabismus entities.

A good proportion of the book is dedicated to a detailed account of paralytic and restrictive strabismus. The penultimate chapter contains the basic principles of surgical management and its complications. The last chapter includes a discussion of interesting cases and how they have been managed in clinical practice. The overall knowledge of the subject is well disseminated by the author in a simple format. Photographs, pictures, charts and graphs complement the text.
