International eye care charity Orbis will be running a symposium discussing the critical topic of ‘Eye Care for Refugees’ on Monday 16th at 13:00, room West 7 at ESCRS in Paris.

Dr Nathalie Weil and Dr Soroosh Behshad from Emory Eye Centre will be exploring the subject and the event will be chaired by Orbis UK trustee, Mr Robert Walters. A free lunch for the first 100 attendees is also available. Since February 2018, Orbis has been providing vital ophthalmic services to Rohingya refugees within the camps in South East Bangladesh and to the local community.

Orbis’s free paper session will also take place before the symposium at 12:00, again in West 7. Entrants will present their exciting research relating to ‘The Treatment and Prevention of Blindness in the Developing World’ and the author of the best paper will receive the prestigious Orbis medal.

The charity looks forward to welcoming you to their events.
