Théa have developed a series of Communications Skills courses in conjunction with a group of senior Ophthalmology Consultants who identified a gap in the existing training available in this key area.

The need to create an atmosphere in clinic where patients can share elements of care they may be unhappy with can be linked to good patient adherence to treatment. Asking these questions in a ‘safe’ environment with active listening and patient engagement can be the key to identifying any concerns and contribute to better patient outcomes.

There are seven modules available in the course which can be completed at your own pace - Purposeful Communication, Creating Conditions That Convey ‘You matter’, Empathetic Listening, Information and Straight Talking with a Warm Heart, Non Verbal Communication, Managing Stress and Emotional Control. Each module qualifies for 1 RCOphth Category D Professional /Managerial CPD point (7 points for the whole course).
