Every year Scope hosts an event in aid of various charities working to improve the lives of people with visual impairments in the UK and this year is no different, with the chosen charity being the Royal Society for Blind Children* (RSBC) (https://www.rsbc.org.uk/).
There are an estimated 36,000 blind and partially sighted children and young people in England and Wales. Every day, four more children are diagnosed with sight loss. A lack of support for parents, fewer opportunities to learn vital life skills, and limited access to positive social experiences mean that blind children are at a serious disadvantage when it comes to their emotional well-being, social development and ultimately, employment prospects.
For nearly two centuries now, RSBC have been supporting blind and partially sighted children, young people, and their families. RSBC works to create a better life for blind children, by helping every young person they work with to find and fulfil their own unique potential.
To support their cause, Scope is hosting a Charity Golf Classic, held on the 26 September in the 5-star Celtic Manor Resort, Wales - home of the 2010 Ryder Cup, with all proceeds going directly to the charity.
Cost of entry is £750 for a team of 4, which includes:
- Shotgun start
- 3 course Dinner
- Golf Buggy
- Goodie Bag
Further sponsorship opportunities available with a raffle and auction also taking place on the day. To find out more about this event and how to partake, please see details below.
