Gloucestershire Research & Education Group in Partnership with the University of Gloucestershire are pleased to provide both the Cert HE in OCT Capture and the Uni Dip in OCT Interpretation. The deadline for the March 2025 cohort applications is 24th January 2025. Sense Medical and Canon: Getting ready for the OCT Pathway in Diabetic Eye Screening Surveillance Pathway webinar

Are you ready for the OCT pathway in DESP? OCT is set to be integrated into the English National Diabetic Eye Screening Surveillance Pathway, significantly enhancing the management of patients with mild diabetic maculopathy. This advancement allows patients to remain within a surveillance pathway overseen by retinal screening rather than being immediately referred to the Hospital Eye Service (HES). The webinar will be hosted by Professor Tunde Peto and Mrs Samantha Mann and will discuss the new OCT pathway, how OCT will change diabetic screening, how to interpret OCT images and how programmes can get ready for the change. Starts at 6pm UK time for 90 minutes

This course is designed to serve as an introduction to ophthalmic surgery and will offer an opportunity for trainees to learn some of the core skills that form the building blocks of ophthalmic surgery. The focus will be on hands-on practical experience with only short introductions to each topic and at least 5 hours of simulated surgery using the latest model eyes. The course is open to Foundation Doctors, Medical students, Overseas Doctors, in fact anyone who is considering a career in ophthalmology.
