This Sunday at 100% Optical, from 3:15-4:15pm, Orbis and FundamentalVR will present on - 21st Century Cataract Surgery Training, Cybersight and Applications for Virtual Reality Around the Globe. The seminar, taking place in the Ophthalmology Theatre, will be co-hosted by John Ferris, who holds worldwide reputation in the fields of simulation and surgical training.
John will cover how international eye care charity, Orbis, is at the forefront of making innovative cataract surgery training methods accessible to all. This is undertaken by using a blend of virtual reality, model eye simulation techniques and remote mentoring of surgeons, via their award-winning telemedicine platform, Cybersight, as they progress from simulation, to live surgery.
John Ferris will be joined by Ashlie Leal, the Vice President of Ophthalmology and Client Success at FundamentalVR, a company with a mission to accelerate human capability via precision simulation. Ashlie’s talk will cover how virtual reality is changing the education landscape in eye care, with Orbis leading the way to bring high-quality cataract virtual reality training to low-and middle-income countries.
Don’t miss this excellent opportunity to hear from two experts on how simulation, virtual reality and remote mentoring is combating cataracts, and other eye conditions, across the globe.
