Sight Sciences Celebrates 150th Certified UK OMNI Surgeon

Sight Sciences is proud to announce that 150 ophthalmic surgeons in the United Kingdom are now certified to use the OMNI® Surgical System. This milestone was marked by the recent certification of Ms. Diana Urbaneja, Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff.

The growing number of certified surgeons reflects the continued establishment of OMNI across the UK, offering a comprehensive, implant-free, minimally invasive surgical (MIGS) option for the treatment of open-angle glaucoma (OAG).

“I was impressed with the level of training and support offered by Sight Sciences,” said Ms. Urbaneja. “I am excited to continue treating open-angle glaucoma patients with OMNI, offering them a minimally invasive option that can lower IOP and significantly reduce the burden of glaucoma medication.

My initial impression of the technology is that it offers me an effective and adaptable option, allowing me to treat patients either at the time of cataract surgery or as a valuable standalone intervention for pseudophakic patients.”

OMNI is uniquely designed to address all three areas of resistance in the conventional outflow pathway — the trabecular meshwork, Schlemm’s canal, and collector channels — restoring natural aqueous outflow and helping to reduce intraocular pressure (IOP).

“It’s been very gratifying to see the continued adoption of OMNI across the UK,” said Steve Mitchley, UK Sales and Operations Manager at Sight Sciences. “Reaching 150 certified surgeons is a testament to the clinical value of the procedure and the strength of our training programs. We remain committed to supporting surgeons every step of the way to ensure successful patient outcomes.”

Sight Sciences is dedicated to transforming eyecare through minimally invasive, targeted interventions that address the root causes of disease. Since launching OMNI in the UK in 2020, the company has seen a strong uptake across both NHS and private practice settings — with more than 50 NHS trusts now offering the technology. These efforts are supported by a dedicated team of experienced surgical trainers and UK-based administrative staff who provide hands-on training, responsive support, and ongoing education.
