We are at a pivotal point in our business journey and are looking for Ophthalmic Surgeons who want to join a highly professional team and make a real, lasting difference to our patient’s lives.
These positions can be either full or part-time. The main remit of this role is to deliver surgical services at Optical Express across the sub-specialities of laser eye surgery, refractive lens exchange and cataract, oculoplastics and vitreo-retinal surgery.
Successful applicants will be expected to work within a multidisciplinary team and conduct a consultation with each patient prior to the day of any surgery taking place. This role will involve performing a high volume of surgeries.
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver world-class patient care.
- Follow and implement Medical Advisory Board guidance.
- Undertake out-patient, face-to-face, in-person and virtual clinics, in addition to surgical procedures in your chosen sub-speciality.
- Prepare for and undertake the protective interventions that you are responsible for in a manner that is consistent with evidence-based practice and maintaining patient safety.
- Carry out teaching, examination and accreditation duties as required and contribute to CPD and clinical governance initiatives.
- Contribute to the audit and clinical governance programmes.
- Contribute to research and publications (optional).
Preferred Candidates will be on the Specialist Register. You must be fully registered with the GMC or IMC and hold a Licence to Practice to be eligible for interview. In return, you will receive an excellent benefits package, to include salary in the region of £150,000 - £200,000 FTE (dependent on experience).
