The 50th anniversary of St Thomas’ ‘Trends in Ophthalmology’ meeting, will be two days of exciting discussions, presentations, and networking opportunities with leading experts in the field. This meeting will be extra special as we are also celebrating 75 years since Sir Harold Ridley implanted the first intraocular lens at St Thomas’ Hospital! As such, the meeting will have a particularly festive and celebratory feel!

This in-person event will be held on Thursday 13th and Friday 14th March 2025 at the prestigious Royal Society of Medicine in London. To mark this extra-special occasion, every sub-specialty will be represented along with eponymous lectures, the very popular & challenging ‘Cases of the Year’ and two historically themed sessions to provide additional insights and context as to how we arrived at many of our current ophthalmic practices.

The Sir Harold Ridley lecture will be given by Prof Geoff Rose, sharing his extensive experience in the management of orbital and lacrimal disease.

The 11th Catherine Heatley Memorial lecture will be presented by the winning South London Ophthalmology research carried out by a trainee.
