“My first time...” Reflecting on an operation, clinical diagnosis or event first encountered as a trainee, lessons learned and how it shaped / informed / helped / hindered / defined / triggered clinical practice later and a future career. 
 e-Poster prize competition 

The winner of the e-Poster prize will present their poster as part of the virtual event. The prizes will be awarded to the lead author only.

  • First prize: SOC Trainee Award (for best Scottish trainee e-poster submission): £250 cash prize
  • Second prize: A place on any course with Haag-Streit Academy in 2021 – donated by Haag-Streit Academy.
Video prize competition

Share your ‘my first time’ experience via a short video. The winning video will be screened as part of the event. 

  • Prize: £250  support towards  trainee attendance at an appropriate congress in 2021 – donated by Thea Pharmaceuticals.
OCT imaging competition 

Enter your best ophthalmology related image. 

  • Prize: Three high-quality OCT textbooks worth £258 (see below for more info) – donated by Heidelberg Engineering.
