RNIB Scotland launch Glasgow drop-in sessions

22 November 2023 | Glasgow, RNIB, Library, Charity, Services, Community

RNIB Scotland are running monthly drop-in support sessions across Glasgow Life Libraries, where anyone can come along to access information about sight loss, RNIB services and to socialise with others with sight loss.

The sessions have been set up to help anyone with sight loss or a visual impairment, as well as their friends, family and carers. They will be running at the Gallery of Modern Art, Castlemilk and Mitchell Libraries.

Conor Joseph, Community Connection Coordinator for RNIB Scotland says: “I’m excited to announce the commencement of our partnership with Glasgow Life Libraries to provide local sight loss information and support. These drop-in meetings will provide a platform to socialise with other local people who have sight loss and ask any questions they may have.

“We look forward to meeting lots of new community members and hope to expand this service to other locations across Glasgow.”

Pip Lawrenson, Glasgow Life Libraries Health Information Partnership Coordinator commented: “Our libraries aim to provide welcoming, warm and safe spaces for the communities they serve, and offer resources and support to enhance the health and wellbeing of local people in Glasgow.

"We are delighted to be working with RNIB to provide much-needed information on sight loss to help anyone who may be able to benefit from that.”
