J&J Vision UK is supporting the development of the next generation of eye care professionals by funding £150 travel grants for optometry and CLO students across the UK to attend the British Contact Lens Association (BCLA) Clinical Conference & Exhibition 5th-7th June at The ICC in Birmingham.
The grants are part of the BCLA’s Students & Young initiatives programme, designed to engage and empower students and early-career professionals in the field of optometry and contact lenses. In addition to receiving the travel grant, eligible students will be granted complimentary access to the BCLA Clinical Conference — one of the leading events in the global vision care calendar.
By removing cost barriers, this initiative allows students to participate in high-level clinical education, gain exposure to cutting-edge research, and build professional networks that will support their transition into practice.
“We’re proud to partner with the BCLA in supporting students at such a formative stage of their careers,” said Ian Pyzer, Professional Education & Development Lead J&J Vision UK. “Creating opportunities for early-career professionals to attend flagship industry events like the BCLA Conference is vital for fostering clinical excellence and inspiring the next generation of contact lens practitioners.”
Student selection and eligibility criteria are managed by the BCLA. Full-time optometry students, pre-reg optometrists, and trainee contact lens opticians are also eligible for free BCLA membership.
