Six deserving independent optical practices were named as winners in the 2022 SightCare Awards celebrating the independent spirit. The only independent optician business awards programme in the UK, the awards are judged by peers from the independent optical sector.
The SightCare Awards are the premier independent business awards showcase recognising the best independent opticians from the length and breadth of the UK. Through the SightCare competition, independent practitioners and their staff enter learning initiatives and independent business content in various categories for recognition of excellence. Awards categories included: Independent Practice of the Year, Practice Team of the Year, Customer Service Excellence, Community Practice of the Year, Sustainability Practice of the Year, Frame Styling Practice of the Year. Finalists are selected by a group of experienced judges and, from that group of finalists, one winner from each category is awarded.
SightCare named the award winners at its annual SightCare Business & Networking Conference, the largest gathering of independent practices in the UK which took place at the Telford International Centre on 29 and 30 January 2023.
The winners from each award category are;

CUSTOMER SERVICE EXCELLENCE – REID MACKELLAR OPTICIANS
COMMUNITY PRACTICE OF THE YEAR – HAMMOND OPTICIANS
SUSTAINABLE PRACTICE OF THE YEAR – WOODHOUSE OPTICIANS
FRAME STYLING PRACTICE OF THE YEAR – YORKSHIRE EYEWEAR
