The awareness campaign, organised by the British Contact Lens Association (BCLA), will be held from 4-10 September and eyecare professionals are being encouraged to sign up to show their support.

The first 200 UK-based practitioners to register for this year’s Love Your Lenses campaign will receive both a printed and online resource pack, including t-shirts, pens, stickers, posters and digital assets to help them spread the word both in-person and online via social media and their website.

The campaign will also gain interest outside of the UK and international practitioners can also be part of the campaign and will receive the digital assets to help show their support.

Chief executive of the BCLA, Luke Stevens-Burt, said: “The BCLA is passionate about the role contact lenses play in eye health and we know eye care professionals around the world are too. They can change lives for the better and we want the eye health community to join us as we share important messages with the public about contact lenses.

“The campaign raises awareness of safe contact lens wear and the benefits of wearing contact lenses while sharing stories of the life-changing impact lenses have had on people from all walks of life.

“We want to inspire eye care professionals to get talking about contact lenses and highlight the importance of high-quality aftercare for continued healthy lens wear – and also sourcing their contact lenses from reputable, legal retailers.”
