The ANTerior Segment Imaging Competition from Eye News and Keeler promotes and celebrates the work of slit-lamp imaging, culminating in cash prizes and exposure for its winners.

Meet our Judges

Rosalyn Painter

Rosalyn has been an ophthalmic imager for nearly 20 years, with her passion for anterior segment imaging starting early in her career. Rosalyn is incumbent Chair of the OIA, the ophthalmic lead for the University of Gloucestershire Healthcare Science (Ophthalmic Imaging) degree. She also manages the GREG education team and works clinically at Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

 

Richard Bell

Richard is a qualified senior medical photographer and ophthalmic research co-ordinator at the Newcastle Eye Centre (NEC), and an external examiner with Gloucestershire University. Richard is a qualified retinal screener/grader in diabetic eye screening, as well as a member of both the OPS and OIA, with numerous photographic awards to his name. He has recently had work published in the Journal of Photography with the OPS and Eye News, and had two images shown on the front cover of EYE. Richard is also Co-chair of the British Association of Retinal Screening (BARS) and registered with the Academy for Health Care Science (AHCS).

 

Nicola Bennett

Nicola is an experienced clinical product training manager at Keeler, bringing a profound understanding of eye health and optical imaging. With a foundation degree in OCT capture and interpretation, she is dedicated to innovation and advancing eyecare technologies but understands the importance of capturing high-quality optical images. Nicola is extremely passionate about eyecare and enjoys educating eyecare professionals worldwide on the full Keeler product portfolio.

 

Hamza Mussa

Hamza has been an optometrist for over seven years, and runs a social media-based education page known as The Crazy Optom. He has a special interest in education and ophthalmic imaging. Hamza currently works as a lead optometrist in Oxfordshire and is the College of Optometrist's councillor for West Midlands.
