Description: Following a serious assault one year previous the image shows the remains of buried glass in the corneal stroma – linear piece plus other very small fragments.

Jenny Goodfellow’s ‘White cells in anterior chamber’
Description: The patient was referred following a routine eye examination after a course of chemotherapy and was found to have a number of white cells or precipitates present in the anterior chamber. This image was made on the highest magnification and by using diffused light and side lighting to illuminate the cells and better show their shape and formation within the vitreous.
